Secusmart was founded in 2007. We still live the start-up spirit today. With respectful cooperation, a flexible working environment and flat hierarchies. At the same time, we are part of the global team of BlackBerry and use the positive synergy effects. Together with Blackberry, we stand for security, trust and innovation.

The heads behind Secusmart

Behind every good idea is a clever mind. Usually even many. Secusmart Düsseldorf was born in 2007 from the idea of convenient and smart eavesdropping security. Since then, various experts in the mobile communications capital have been providing mobile high-security all over the world. May we introduce: the Secusmart team.

Dr. Christoph Erdmann - Managing Director Secusmart

Dr. Christoph Erdmann is the founder and managing director of Secusmart GmbH. Since 2014, he has also been Senior Vice President at BlackBerry and is responsible for the secure communications business unit within the parent company. After studying electrical engineering, he completed his doctorate at RWTH Aachen University in the field of digital signal processing. For his dissertation he received the prestigious E-Plus-Promotions-Preis in 2004 and the Borchers-Plakette of the RWTH Aachen in 2006. From 2004 to 2007 he was Technology Manager at Nokia.  "Secusmart has earned the trust of governments worldwide and is an international market leader for secure mobile working and secure mobile communications. We are constantly expanding our range of solutions - with a focus on outstanding usability and maximum security, available on the latest smartphones and tablets."

Daniel Fuhrmann - Managing Director Secusmart

Alongside the founders, Daniel Fuhrmann has been a Secusmart man from the very beginning. Until the end of 2015, Fuhrmann served as the company's Chief Operating Officer, and since January 2016 he has been Secusmart's Managing Director alongside Dr. Christoph Erdmann. Before joining Secusmart, Daniel Fuhrmann worked in product management at NOKIA Siemens Networks. Prior to that, he held various management positions in research and development at NOKIA. A graduate engineer, he studied electrical and communications engineering at RWTH Aachen University.

Swenja Hintzen - Business Marketing and Communication Director

Swenja Hintzen is a member of the management team and, as Business Marketing and Communication Director and responsible for the whole Secusmart Marketing. Hintzen previously worked in marketing, new business and press relations at various design agencies. A few years later, she completed a Bachelor of Advertising and Communication Management degree while working.

Reinhard Schumak - Vice President Security Product Management

Reinhard Schumak joined Secusmart in 2015 and is responsible for the company's product management team. His professional interests lie in the areas of new product development, product innovation and Agile methodologies. Prior to joining Secusmart, Schumak held product and engineering positions at several venture funded companies in the Boston Massachusetts area. He holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University and an undergraduate degree from Harvard University.

Keith Balasingham - Director Security Product Portfolio

Keith Balasingham is a member of the management team and Director Security Product Portfolio. He brings more than 17 years of experience in various technology areas, including many years in various key positions in BlackBerry's renowned Product Security organization.

Jörg Goronzy - Vice President Secusmart Sales

Jörg Goronzy is Vice President Secusmart Sales at Secusmart. Before that, the economics graduate ran his own company for interim management and sales services for three years. Earlier in his career, he worked for Versatel for ten years - most recently as divisional manager for business customers throughout Germany.

Carsten Michel - Director Product Marketing

Carsten Michel is a member of the management team and Director Product Marketing at Secusmart. Previously, he was involved in the planning and design of new business smartphones in Nokia's portfolio management. Michel studied business administration at the Georg-Simon-Ohm University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg.

Gordon Loeffler - Senior Director Technology Development

Gordon Loeffler is a member of the management team and Senior Director Technology Development. Previously, he spent over 16 years in R&D at Nokia Siemens Networks leading departments such as large international development programs. A Canadian national, he holds a degree in electrical engineering with honors in international studies from the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Thomas Mrotzek - Senior Director Business Operations

Thomas Mrotzek is a member of the management team and Senior Director Business Operations at Secusmart. He has many years of experience in product management at Nokia Siemens Networks. Prior to that, he held various positions in research and development at Nokia. The graduate engineer studied electrical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences in Aachen.

David Wiseman - Vice President Field Marketing

David Wiseman joined BlackBerry in 2014 and is responsible for the company's Americas and APAC business. His professional interests lie in the areas of secure communications, enterprise software and marketing. Prior to joining BlackBerry, Wiseman held engineering, product, sales and marketing roles with the US DOD, SAP and IBM. He holds an MBA from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and an undergraduate degree from the University of Mary Washington.
